Overview
Typically it takes a year
for a book to appear from the time the manuscript reaches the publisher,
and it typically takes six months to create a final manuscript. Prior to
that, you have to develop a proposal, which takes several weeks to two
months, depending on how clear you are on the content and how much
research you need to do on competitive titles. And, of course, you have to
get an agent to agree to represent you, which could take an unknown amount
